We coach with CARE, ARC, I3P, PPRDJ, IGT, and STAR. There is no single official CASPer method: we default to I3P for situational judgment, use PPRDJ for complex ethical dilemmas when selected, and STAR for personal or past-experience prompts so students can structure answers quickly without sounding scripted.
Situational scenarios
Clarify · Ask · Recognize · Explore
Best when the prompt asks what you would do and you need to gather missing facts before acting.
Self-insight prompts
Anecdote · Reflection · Connection
Best when the question mainly asks what you felt, what you learned, or how you would manage your own tendencies.
Information-light scenarios
Most PopularIssues · Impact · Information · Potential Approaches
Best when you need to identify the conflict, explain who is affected, gather missing facts, and use if-then options.
Complex ethical dilemmas
Problem · Perspectives · Responsibility · Decision · Justification
Best when you need to define the problem, consider viewpoints, name your duty, decide, and justify the choice.
Decision-focused scenarios
Identify · Generate · Take action
Best when you need to surface options quickly, choose one, and explain why it fits your role.
Personal and past-experience prompts
Situation · Task · Action · Result / Reflection
Best for personal examples where the grader needs context, your responsibility, your actions, the outcome, and the lesson.
Is this affiliated with Acuity Insights?
No. CASPer is a trademark of Acuity Insights. This is independent prep material.
Are the practice scenarios real CASPer questions?
No. All scenarios are original, written to mirror the format and difficulty of the real test.
Is there one right CASPer answer framework?
No. CASPer evaluates qualities such as ethics, empathy, collaboration, communication, and self-awareness. We use frameworks to help you think faster: I3P is the default for situational judgment, PPRDJ is useful for complex ethical dilemmas, STAR is the default for personal and past-experience prompts, and ARC remains useful for self-insight questions.
Do I need a Max membership to practice?
You need an active paid membership to start timed practice and receive AI feedback. The CASPer Prep Test 14 days plan unlocks 14 days of practice access, and Max 1, Max 2, and Max 3 provide longer access periods. Paid memberships include timed typed and Video Response practice, AI feedback, the AI practice planner, dashboard readiness tracking, full mock tests, and the complete scenario library.
What is the difference between Video and Video Response?
CASPer Test Prep provides a written stimulus and narrative instead of a stimulus video so students can identify and break down the key elements before answering. The response format is the same Video Response format used in the real CASPer test. We believe this helps students structure stronger responses. We also recommend completing the Acuity Insights CASPer example questions and full practice test before your official test.
How are practice answers scored?
AI critique uses the selected framework for the scenario type, maps the /9 practice score to a Q1-Q4 quartile band, and shows calibrated example answers where available. I3P is the default for situational prompts, PPRDJ can be selected for complex ethical dilemmas, and STAR is the default for personal or past-experience prompts.
